RESCUE OF NATIVE PLANTS IN ECUADOR
Description
In Ecuador, there are 18, 198 species of flora registered, of which 17, 748 are native and 4,500 are endemic. Many species are protected in ecological reserves in some places throughout the national territory, while other have been displaced from their places of origin because of human activities.
The rescue group dedicates themselves to the recollection of native species throughout the national territory, saving plants that find themselves as endangered or threatened, and relocating vegetative material for propagation.
